Center for Analytic Research in Economics and the Social Sciences

Cass_David.gif (10013 bytes) The Center for Analytic Research in Economics and the Social Sciences (CARESS), directed by Professor David Cass, serves as an institutional umbrella for economic theorists in the Department of Economics, broadly interpreted to include both Money/Macro and Applied Game Theory types.

The production and distribution of the CARESS Working Paper series is among one of several activities that CARESS is involved in.  The center handles arrangements, and provides some services and support for short-term and long-term visitors.  It also provides some services and support for graduate students doing economic theory.  In addition, CARESS assists in the organization (and partially finances) the Theory and Money/Macro workshops, as well as occasional small-scale conferences.  A CARESS Coffee Room is maintained and operated as a central meeting place for faculty, visitors, graduate students and staff.
